Accreditation

 

The SPSP is licensed by TVTC (License number 214/943) as a private, not-for-profit vocational training institution specifically for the Petroleum Service Industry.

 

A total of six technical specialty programs are offered at SPSP, which all lead to the award of a National Vocational Qualifications at Level 3 (NVQ Level 3). These will be accredited by PAA/VQ-SET, an internationally recognized energy sector awarding body, or by the International Association of Drilling Companies (IADC) and by TVTC. This means that the qualifications are recognized throughout the industry worldwide and will also provide students with access to further and higher levels of study if they so desire.

 SPSP has been certified as an approved centre by the Awarding Body PAA/ VQ-SET to run an NVQ  Level 2 Award for Performing Engineering  Operations (PEO), A1, A2, V1 and Specialized Awards in the following technical specialty’s:  Operations, Drilling, Pipefitting, Mechanical, Welding and Electrical. These qualifications are internationally recognized by major industries worldwide. 

On the successful achievement of the qualification the student will be able to demonstrate competent performance of skills based on International Standards developed and defined by industry. The student  will also be able to have the required level of understanding of all knowledge associated with his performance skills.

NVQs are qualifications that use occupational standards to define competence in the form of skills, knowledge and understanding in the occupation covered by the NVQ. NVQs promote quality, consistency, accuracy and fairness in the assessment for all awards. It will ensure that standards are maintained in each occupational area and across all awards. It provides a basis for securing high standards in all aspects of the implementation and assessment of NVQs and industry confidence in the qualifications.
